Minecraft... AMAZING!!!

I recently purchased Minecraft, possibly the greatest homebrew PC game EVER made. You get dumped off with nothing, you make your way around this vast islandous world harvesting materials and building things. Then, night comes... Zombies, skeletons, and spiders come out from their dark slumber, their only mission: Kill you. If you die, you respawn back at the beginning, nothing is your inventory.

You learn to build, craft, and develope, throughout the course of this litterally endless game.

5 out of 5 stars.

So what is TheNumberSix all about?

TheNumberSix is the collection of ideas that pour out of my head.  Basically I write down anything I think about while I'm at the computer.  This is essentially a way to express my mind non-verbally.
I'm hoping to aquire a better address than thenumbersix.blogspot.com, but for now, that's all I have.  So far I have about 15 posts (I forget the actual ammount), and I plan to keep going until I reach 600.  At that point we'll see where I am, when it comes to buying a real domain.
Time for School, oh the joy.
Au Revoir!
(That last statement is ironic because French is the only class I don't have today!)

The Event

What is it exactly? Good question. I have no idea, but it is a decent show. I was going to watch it but I'm playing Minecraft instead (MUST REACH NEXT MOUNTAIN!!!!!)But I'll wastch it eventually.

Homework

Everyone in school knows that homework is the worst. It's time consuming, painful, and annoying. Although, many people don't realize the importance of such torure. It helps us practice or skills for one. Take Halo for example, if you never practiced with your DMR and you go straight into a match of SWAT, you're screwed. Now take this example and apply it to education: If you never practice your skill, be it Math, Science, or whatever you might have a significant educational standpoint on, and you go into a test, you're screwed.

So, what should we take away from this? PRACTICE YOUR GODDAMN DMR!

This new theme is kinda bland...

I just enabled a new design for this site, but it's pretty boring. It reminds me of Apple: grey, simplistic, etc.

I'll probably change this eventually. But that's all for today.

I think I'm going to Saw 3D

That's right, I believe that I should utilize my position as an employee at the theater to see Saw 3D with Andrew, early on Thursday.

Well, that's all for now.

Ubuntu 10.10 Finally works on my Latitude

After I got home today, and after a considerable time spent cooling down, my C640 finally decided to install Ubuntu Maverick without a hitch.  Well, okay, there was one hitch: After it finished I selected restart, and it hung at this purple page for about 6 minutes.  I finally decided to just do a hard reset.

Yes, it actually works.  I booted in and reset the roo password so I could do some serious moding.  For those of you that don't know how to change the root password:

sudo passwd root

Exactly like that, and yes, I know password is spelled wrong, that's what it requires for some reason.  This will thn prompt you to enter your password, followed by the desired root password, and a confirmation of the latter.

All in all, I am glad to get this OS up and running again, it's a decent build, and offers a lot of great UI choices.

Adios!

Latitudinal Error

I am outraged!  I was attempting to install a copy of Maverick this morning on my Dell Latitude C640 and the damn thing just won't boot!  I have no idea what's causing this; however, I intend to find out.

I tried installing this copy from the same DVD 4 times.
1. Worked like a charm.
2. Didn't even get passed the welcome screen.
3. Crashed due to an sda/dev1 error.
4. Thought my disk drive, hard driveand DVD were all faulty.

This is rediculous, I'm switching to a Mac.

Inception

The idea, amazing.  The movie, even better.  No, this is not a review, but going to the movies tonight reminded me of the wonderfulness that is Inception.  I saw this movie twice over the Summer.  And personally, I thought it was THE BEST movie ever.  I gave it a 6 out of 5.  I'm not quite sure if you've figured this out yet or not, but I love The Number Six.

Retake?

So... I stomached that garbage again.  And I must say...

I LOVED IT!
NOT.

It was fun because I brought my best friend, but honestly, if they make another one of those horrible movies, I'll have to burn my photos of my step-aunt (PA2 reference).  The acting was dry, and the plot is a mess, but it did supply some good startles, Andrew and I both jumped at a few specific parts, namely the large activity in the kitchen, and the first loud noise.  Andrew had a great time, and we played some Gauntlet Legends, a game supplied by the theater, afterwords.

Exiting the auditorium, Andrew pointed out a wonderful question: What ever happened to the dog?  This really doesn't constitute a spoiler (mostly because there is not plot), but the dog was taken to the vet, and they said she was fine, but three weeks later, no dog!  We have no explaination for this since the family was fine for over 20 days!

Overall, I will alter my opinion on the movie by giving it 3 out of 5, this is my final review for Paranormal Activity 2.

The Sixth Post

I see dead webblogs...  They're everywhere...  They walk around (the internet) like everything else...  They don't even know they're blogs...

Android is Awesome

Of course, as the title implies, I love Android.  I'm currently running Sense UI on a Nexus One with MoDaCo's 2.1-update1 root access.

On the 22nd of October I followed a guide by http://theunlockr.com/ and succeded in Rooting my N1 with relative ease.  I proceded to flash the amon_RA Sense ROM.  I have to say, it's absolutely beautiful.

Off to the Movie... Again

Yes, I'm going to Paranormal Activity 2 again, this time with a different group, and hopefully it will be better.  I'll offer my revised opinion after the film.

See ya!

Paranormal Activity 2 Review

Alright, I'm going to lay this out plain and simple: This movie sucked.  I have seen the first installment in the series, and understood the references, but it still couldn't draw my attention.  I cannot believe that the producers didn't learn from the mistakes pointed out from the first movie.

For those of you that don't know, this is essentially a prequel to the first PA  It does a great job of elaborating on the storyline, that is to say, it added a storyline...

The movie starts off with a happy couple and the husband's daughter moving into a new house, accompanying them is Hunter, their new-born son.  I don't want to go into the story too much, to prevent from spoiling it, but I will say that Hunter is the first male born in their family line for quite a while.  In the first movie, the paranormal activity was explained as being via a demonic presence.  If you happen to know much about the occult yourself, you may have already figured out the ENTIRE story, otherwise, go ahead and see the movie, as long as you bring someone, it can be quite a fun experience.  The movie playing in the background just happens to suck.

Well, that's my review, I give this movie 2 stars out of 5.

* * * * *

Until next time.

Randomness

I've recently been teaching myself HTML, not that anyone cares, but I think I'm doing pretty good when it comes to learning it.

I saw Paranormal Activity 2 on Saturday, I'll probably post a review of it.  I work at a Movie Theater, so I get to see movies for free!  In fact, I'm going to see that very same movie tonight with my friend, for free!  Just thought I'd share that.  By the way, seeing a movie twice for me doesn't mean I like it...

I'm not quite sure what to post in a blog, I've only had one other blog besides my twitter, and I basically copied Engadget posts.  Long story short, it sucked.  I just noticed that there is a "Labels" section in the post window.  I don't know why I would want to label it.  But, meh, I might as well find something to label these posts.

BTW: I suck at grammar, so...

Okay, that's all for now.

Ubuntu 10.10 has been installed!

Alright, this is my first post, and I wanted to talk about Ubuntu.  Yesterday I installed Ubuntu 10.10, Maverick Meerkat, on my old Dell Dimension 4550.  The OS runs like a dream, breathing new life into my old Dell.  I've implemented my custom Eterna "UI", which is basically just my own adjustments to the default Ubuntu UI, giving it more usable features.

I've also installed the Faenza theme for Gnome from here.  I love these icons and images.  So far, I've adjusted to the new system and may not go back to my Windows 7 Home Premium drive for a while; Although, when I fill up my 160 GB drive I might need to.

So, this post is simply an textual introduction to my work space.

I will probably be blogging frequently, but don't count on anything all that much.
